What is bright copper worth?
Bright copper — clean, shiny, no solder or fittings — is our highest-paying copper grade, see our prices page for today's figure. Call us or check our prices page for today's figure.
Do I need to strip my copper cable?
No — we accept PVC and armoured cable unstripped. You'll get a lower price per tonne than stripped wire, but there's no need to strip it yourself unless you want to maximise value.
What's the difference between bright copper and heavy copper?
Bright copper is clean, uncoated, no solder or fittings. Heavy copper includes pipe with fittings, coated copper, and older boiler tanks. Bright copper pays more per tonne.
Can I bring a mix of copper grades?
Yes — we separate and grade it on the scales. You don't need to pre-sort everything, but keeping grades separate does get you a better return overall.
