Electricians, building contractors, and demolition teams bring us everything from new offcut cable to old armoured SWA from building strip-outs. You don't need to strip cable — we'll grade and pay for it as-is. Stripping your cable does get you a better rate, but it's your choice.

Scrap Scrap Cable & Wire FAQs

Do I need to strip my cable before bringing it in?
No — we accept cable unstripped. You'll get a lower price than stripped bright wire, but there's no obligation to strip it. For large quantities of high-copper content cable, stripping is worth considering.
What's the price difference between stripped and unstripped cable?
Stripped dry bright wire pays near-copper prices (see our prices page for today's figure). PVC cable pays less because of the plastic weight — typically see our prices page. The difference reflects the copper content.
Do you buy data cable and Cat5?
Yes, but data cable has very low copper content so the price per tonne is low. Call us ahead of time if you have a large quantity.
Do you buy electric motors?
Yes — electric motors with copper windings are priced as a mixed item. The more copper content, the better. Bring them in and we'll weigh and grade.
