About Scrap Brass

Brass is one of the most common non-ferrous metals we buy — and one of the most underrated. Plumbers, heating engineers, and building contractors often have bags of old taps, gate valves, compression fittings, and push-fit fittings. It all adds up. We weigh it, grade it (clean vs mixed), and pay you the same day.

Scrap Brass FAQs

What counts as clean brass?
Clean brass is predominantly yellow brass — taps, gate valves, compression fittings, push-fit fittings — with minimal iron or steel mixed in. If it's mostly brass with a few iron bits, we'll still take it as clean. Mixed brass has more contamination.
Do you buy old radiator valves?
Yes — radiator valves are usually a mix of brass body and iron nuts. We grade these as mixed brass. They still pay well.
What's the price difference between clean and mixed brass?
Clean brass typically pays see our prices page and mixed see our prices page. Keeping grades separate is worth doing for larger quantities.
Can I bring brass with other metals?
Yes — bring it all in. We'll separate and weigh each metal type individually so you get the right price for each.
